Episode 1, act 1:sharing understanding on the nature of the isometric grid through comparison with random dots, using natural language; raise interest and arouse curiosity. Concrete preparation creates a shared vocabulary for the mini-challenge in act 2.
Episode 1, act 2: pair or group work on drawing and naming shapes on the isometric grid. Pupils discuss and access each other’s different ways of thinking and gain hands-on experience.
Episode 1, act 3: sharing through whole class discussion. Pupils listen to one another’s explanations, add to the ideas or dispute them.
