There are several programmes which have applied a similar CASE approach to other subject areas and other age ranges of children. No doubt more will appear in the near future. Currently these are available:
As well as CAME for 11 to 14 year olds, there are also maths materials developed for 9 to 11 year olds. ‘Let’s Think!’; the materials of CASE for 5 year olds, is published by NFER-Nelson. Work is also currently under way to generate intervention lessons for 9 year olds. The Wigan Arts Reasoning and Thinking Skills Project has developed materials for use with 11 to 14 year olds in drama, music and visual art. The Spotlight Science course from Nelson Thornes also contains a range of Thinking Skills Sheets within its Teacher Support Materials. These are intended for teachers who have experience in teaching CASE lessons. The sheets have been developed by CASE trainers.
