About the Authors
Philip Adey
was a Professor at King’s College London and the director of the Centre for the Advancement of Thinking. Working as a teacher he became interested in the source of pupils’ difficulties with learning, and this led him into studying cognitive development and acceleration.
Frances Nagy
was a primary school teacher for many years. She subsequently worked in an advisory capacity at the North London Science Centre and is currently an independent primary science consultant working with authorities and schools, helping them to manage their science curriculum.
Anne Robertson
trained and worked as a primary school teacher in Edinburgh in the early 1970s before moving to Tottenham in 1981. She taught in Haringey and Newham until taking an advisory post in Barking and Dagenham. She started working in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1998, focusing on developing thinking with pupils.
Natasha Serret
has been a primary school teacher for six years. She trained and worked in Camden. She joined King’s in 2001 as the Research Associate for the CASE@KS2 project. Her work with the teachers and the pupils from the 21 schools in Harrow and Hammersmith and Fulham during this project has helped to generate and fine tune the Let’s Think through Science! resources.
Pam Wadsworth
has wide experience in teaching primary science, in the education of primary teachers in science, and in the development of materials for primary science co-ordinators. Pam was one of the researchers on the Science Process and Concept Exploration, from which Nuffield Primary Science was developed.
Philip Adey and Anne Robertson also authored the hugely successful Let’s Think! programme.
