Cyflwyniad

Introduction
This lesson stimulates children’s thinking about multiplicative links and encourages them to begin to describe, and think about, patterns of increase. The children seek to find meaning and develop testable hypotheses in seemingly random groups of numbers.
Episode 1:
Children explore and describe a simple pattern using multiples of five. They are then challenged to identify and describe a more complex pattern of 3n + 1.
Episode 2:
The class explore and attempt to describe a more complex pattern - n 2 + 1.
Episode 3:
The children use number lines to compare and contrast the two different number patterns.
